It’s Tuesday! Another Tuesday another list of movies out to DVD today. One you might have seen previews for since they are allllll over and I don’t really know why. Honeslty I cannot believe the people in this movie but Beverly Hills Chihuahua hits the shelves tomorrow. Other releases today are: Lake City (2009), Things We Lost in the Fire (2008), Awake (2008), Australia (2009), In the Electric Mist (2009), Take: The Extended Harder Cut (2009), True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet (2009), Exit Speed (2009), Real Time (2009), and False Face (2009).
Let’s take a look at the movies we might have heard of.
Beverly Hills Chihuahua: Honestly I’ve never really been a fan of movies that mix animated animals (talking) with actual human actors. The movie features the voices of Drew Barrymore as the main Chihuahua Chloe. George Lopez is the voice over for Papi a Chihuahua crazy about Chloe who takes it upon himself to find Chloe when she gets lost in Mexico. Some of the stars that are actually seen in the movie are Jaime Lee Curtis and Piper Perado.
Personally this movie does not seem like something that Jaime Lee Curtis would be in.
Australia: This one I’d really like to see. It stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman.
Awake: Awake stars Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba, and Terrance Howard. It’s a psychological thriller that follows Christensen’s time experiencing “anesthetic awareness. This phenomenon is when the anesthesia on a patient fails and they are conscious but physically paralyzed. With a shocking twist leaving you in awe at the end of the movie.
Lake City: Sissy Spacek, Troy Garity, and Dave Matthews all star in a film about a mother and a son who are forced to come together to save their families home. Matthews plays a drug dealer looking to get revenge on Garity after his wife stole cocaine from him. While dealing with this life threatening drug issue he is trying to rebuild a relationship with his mother who he went separate ways from years ago following a family tragedy.
